  1. I had been travelling oversea’s for 2 years and came back to visit on Mother’s Day. My mum was totally unaware of where I was and she opened the door on Mother’s Day to see me on the front door! Cue lots of tears and hugs but a memorable day for both of us!

  2. Probably my best memory is from mothers day May 2017. I had been estranged from my parents for just over 10 years. In that time we hadn’t spoken at all. So we flew to Brisbane and turned up at my parents home. Mum was in her room and would not come out for anybody. So I took the big step of opening her door and going in. We were both very emotional and both had regrets and both had misinterpreted events. We sat and talked for ages. Mum and I went out to dinner with dad and my partner. Since that day mum and I have been texting each other every day. We also take turns at phoning each other as well. Our relationship has been the best its ever been in my whole life. I am so so pleased that I took the step of flying to Brisbane to sort it out. It had gone on for too long. I would love to be able to share this prize with her when she comes to visit after lockdown is over.

  3. When our children made me breakfast in bed. Wheatbix and a cup of tea made from the hot tape
