TAKURUA TIITII SACRED KNOWLEDGE

4-6 August
ANZ Viaduct Centre

This cultural extravaganza combines fine dining over five courses, dance theatre, and authentic storytelling through the riotous Samoan comedy tradition fale aitu. The show tells the story of Ti’iti’i (also known as Māui), a rebellious trickster and hero of the Pacific, who challenged the gods to share their sacred knowledge with the people.

THINGS THAT MATTER

11-26 August
ASB Waterfront Theatre

Adapted from the best-selling memoir, Things That Matter, by Dr David Galler, this play is set in a range of familiar locations. Follow Raf Beckman, a doctor from Middlemore Hospital as he tackles his way through a hospital that’s well over capacity with burnout, endless paperwork, and genuine care for his patients. An all-too-familiar tale, with a compassionate perspective.

THE SIMON AND GARFUNKEL STORY

This enthralling show chronicles the journey of two young boys from Queens, New York, who go on to become one of the world’s greatest double acts of all time. This immersive concert-styled theatre show follows the duo throughout their joint and individual career highlights, including their dramatic split and legendary 1981 reunion.

Randy Feltface has spent the past 18 years carving out a unique space within the international comedy scene, nominated for the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Fest comedy award, selling out seasons in New York and London, and appearing on NBC’s Bring the Funny. New Zealand Opera and internationally acclaimed Pacific contemporary dance company, Black Grace, present (m)Orpheus, a reimagining of Christoph Gluck’s 18th-century masterpiece, Orpheus and Eurydice, led by director and choreographer Neil Ieremia (ONZM).

Re-orchestrated by composer and percussionist Gareth Farr, don’t miss this exquisite dance-opera collision, blending rich Pasifika storytelling with themes of Greek tragedy. Coming to Auckland and Wellington this September.
