Embracing the unique flora and fauna that is native to New Zealand, ManukaRx has very graciously taken advantage of the incredible mānuka plant and all of its healing properties and turned it into a beautiful range of skincare.
Mānuka oil is a relatively new ingredient to the herbal and holistic skincare society, providing combat against common skin issues such as anti-aging and acne. ManukaRx’s ‘Pro-Aging’ skincare line is a love affair between New Zealand’s finest mānuka oil, sourced from the East Cape of New Zealand, and the highly-coveted rosehip oil. These ingredients as a pair deliver a powerful dose of antioxidants and anti-aging properties, helping to naturally boost both collagen production and the reduction in the appearance of wrinkles.
Now, believe me when I say I’m not just being nice. I adored this range. The pro-aging cream cleanser is a permanent fixture on my bathroom sink, ready to be used each night. It delivers all you need from a cleanser with that touch of pizzazz, providing both nourishment and hydration, as well as it being invigorating for your skin.
The pro-aging day cream was light but had a creamy texture. This moisturiser is so light you might be concerned it isn’t going to deliver on its promises, however I’m here to report that this is not at all the case. It also (very importantly) sits so comfortably underneath my makeup. This product in particular harnesses the power of the Kakadu Plum Extract, which is known to contain the highest natural concentration of Vitamin C. This is great for boosting circulation, brightening, healing surface damage, stimulating collagen production, and gives you a layer of protection against free radicals that we face on an everyday basis.
The pro-aging eye cream was a beautiful product. It was also on the lighter side, so a great way to bring some hydration to your under eyes when those mornings call for it. This eye cream contains green tea extract, possessing potent antioxidants and skin-soothing properties, which helps to naturally improve the appearance of sun damage, all whilst hydrating and brightening.
Now, let’s talk about the pro-aging skin oil. This product was one of my absolute favourites in the range, and a must-have if you’re looking for a new face oil. This product smells like New Zealand, channelling the fragrance of our beautiful forests, flora and fauna, delivering a feeling of nostalgia as well as a heavy dosage of hydration. This oil also contains a generous helping of Vitamin C which is found in the rosehip oil, which is also packed full of plant-powered antioxidants which help penetrate deeper layers of the skin, all whilst helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I can’t recommend this product enough.
Finally, the pro-aging night cream. I may sound like a broken record, but I loved this product immensely. I am a sucker for a good night cream, especially ones that help you fall asleep. Again, the nostalgic smell of home makes it so easy to relax after your nightly skincare routine. It’s thick in texture and you can feel it working its magic. This is an indefinite fixture in my skincare routine and is currently sitting on my bedside table ready to be applied. This cream unleashes the power of the aloe vera plant, enabling both a soothing and hydrated application.
