Wine columnist and connoisseur DENNIS KNILL gives his views on Giesen’s new range of sauvignon blanc wines
Founded by three proud bothers Theo, Marcel and Alex, Giesen Wines are a family enterprise and powerhouse winemakers with over three decades of winemaking experience. From initially planting riesling and chardonnay in Canterbury in the early eighties Giesen went on to secure a vineyard in Marlborough becoming one of the first converts to plant sauvignon blanc in the region.
Today Giesen are industry leaders with an uncompromising drive for quality and innovation resulting in highly awarded premium wines that fuel the fire. Famous for their sauvignon blanc there is far more to this winery with their excellent chardonnay, pinot noir and syrah which are all widely exported.
