Wine columnist and connoisseur DENNIS KNILL gives his views on three vegan certified releases from Ara Wines
With no restrictions on sun and soil Marlborough has the perfect climate for winemakers to produce great wines. This is unadulterated wine country globally famous for its world class sauvignon blanc. Since grapes were first planted here 50 years ago the region has surged ahead in leaps and bounds with over 40 cellar doors many with excellent restaurants demonstrating their passion for gourmet food and culinary delights
Located a stone’s throw from the ocean and nestled between rugged mountains and icy rivers Awatere Valley is home to Ara Wines who have been crafting wines on the edge of earth for 20 years that represent the true characteristics of the region
Each of these wines have a sense of lightness and are well worth exploring.
