The new Glow Lab Sensitive Range – Verve Reviews

Since the event I have been trialing the 4-step routine, morning and night, to see how it affected my skin. Here are my thoughts:

Last Wednesday saw me lucky enough to attend Glow Lab’s launch party which was located in the stunning Park Hyatt’s “The Boathouse,” for not one, but two of their newest additions to their skincare range. An introduction to the studio and a Dose & Co caramel collagen iced coffee later, (okay, it was two), and we were being introduced to the first of the two launches.

When I took a look at the products and was kindly greeted with the word SENSITIVE, I was ready to start the day. This range includes a cleansing oil, hydra-gel moisturiser, restoring night cream, and the one that excited me the most, a redness relief serum. Since the event I have been trialing the 4-step routine, morning and night, to see how it affected my skin. Here are my thoughts:

  1. SENSITIVE Cleansing Oil

We have all tried that cleanser that is so strong it tends to strip all the good stuff off your face along with the bad. This hidden gem is a gentle cleansing oil that turns into milk with water. Its ingredients include Jojoba and Sunflower Oils, enabling that squeaky clean feeling without the dryness.

       2. SENSITIVE Hydra Gel Moisturiser

When it comes to my day moisturisers, although intentionally light, I like a little bit of oomph. The hydra-gel moisturiser is a great midway point for just that and has quickly become my go-to. Its first ingredient being aqua makes it light and easily absorbed. Another thing I look out for when choosing my moisturisers is scent… as my skin is easily irritated, I tend to go for scentless skincare as sometimes this can aggravate my skin, and hallelujah, it is fragrance free! Overall, this moisturiser was a big win for me.

      3. SENSITIVE Restoring Night Cream

This moisturiser is now a deeply integrated part of my nightly skincare routine and will be topped up over and over again. As above, I spoke about how I love a moisturiser with a bit of oomph, and Glow Lab’s Sensitive Restoring Night Cream gives exactly that. It’s thick in texture but absorbed oh-so-easily. There is no sitting on your face and making it extremely awkward for you to lie on your pillow after application. Its ingredients include actives such as SymRelief 100 to calm irritation and redness, and Byungpul Extract to repair and help reduce allergy-induced flair-ups, as well as Jojoba and Macadamia Seed Oils to hydrate. Again, an fragrance free moisturiser that works as a best friend with Glow Lab’s Sensitive Redness Relief Serum. Speaking of…

       4. SENSITIVE Redness Relief Serum

Coming from the perspective of a girl who has very recently experienced fairly bad breakouts and a lot of redness, I was very ready to give this a go. Its ingredients include active botanicals like SymRelief 100 and MultiEx Rosanic that work together to strengthen the skins moisture barrier and help prevent further irritation and/or breakouts and Jeju Blossom extract to soothe both irritation and inflammation. After 7 days of religious trialing, my redness had gone down drastically, and the feeling of having to combat my redness with the beauty of concealer has subsided. This will also be a permanent fixture in my nightly routine.

Post relaxation session with the very talented Sarah Tanner and her sound baths I pulled out 3 very aesthetically pleasing boxes from my goodie bag. Hello, ‘four-week booster treatments!’ These little beauties work in conjunction with your skincare, and I decided to try this by mixing the ‘firming booster treatment’ with my ‘restoring night cream’ from the sensitive range. We all love the words “a little goes a long way,” and that is exactly what it does. These ‘booster treatments’ may sound intense, but they all have one thing in common, their first ingredient is aqua. This means that they are gentle on your skin, but without the sacrifice of what the product is promising. I’m only in week two of my four-week trial, but I’ve seen great results so far!

To wrap up this review I wanted to give a big thank you to Glow Lab for putting on a beautiful event, and for providing exceptional skincare without the heavy price tag. Find your Glow Lab goodies in your local Countdown, New World, Pak ‘n’ Save, the Warehouse or Chemist Warehouse.
