Award-winning spirit purveyor, Scapegrace Distillery has just launched its latest creation; introducing Scapegrace Uncommon Vodka, the second release in its Uncommon craft spirit offering.
Scapegrace Uncommon Vodka will see limited-edition releases coming to market every six months; highlighting rare and uncommon craft vodka variants. Only 2,500 of each variety will be available, with every bottle having a unique number and allocation.
At the heart of the Uncommon offering, Scapegrace has combed New Zealand to hero the stories of unique and inspiring people that are producing boutique ingredients. This season’s Uncommon Vodka features two varietals; Yuzu Lemon ($69.99NZD) & Umeshu Plum ($69.99NZD) crafted from the fruit of local producers Neville & Junko Chun. Based 100km from Wellington in Horowhenua, the pair are pioneers in the cultivation of authentic Japanese Yuzu Lemon and Umeshu Plums in New Zealand.
Scapegrace co-founder and Marketing Director Mark Neal says it’s been a pleasure scouting New Zealand to find local producers and hear their stories; “The Uncommon offering has allowed us to shine light on local pioneers and growers who are leading the way in the future of cultivation in New Zealand. Here at Scapegrace, we’re all about producing the best product and what better way to do this than with local legends who have the same goal as us.”
Local grower Neville Chun adds, “Aligning our produce with such an iconic Kiwi brand is wonderful for us. It is great that two cultures can come together harmoniously to create a product that will be enjoyed all around the world. Our Yuzu lemons and Umeshu plums hold such a rich history and for them to be enjoyed in a quality way that heroes the process is wonderful to be part of.”
Scapegrace Uncommon Vodka is the perfect canvas for crafting cocktails, flavours and creative ideas and will be available at all good liquor stores nationwide and online at www.scapegracedistillery.com from 18 March 2022, retailing for $69.99NZD.
