Ponsonby Teeth, a sparkling new dental practice, has just opened in the heart of Ponsonby Road.
This historically protected villa has been converted into a gleaming new dental clinic by dentist Dr. Ashleigh Howlett, a resident in nearby St Mary’s Bay. Ashleigh aims to combine the most advanced dental technology alongside the care and customer service of a traditional kiwi dentistry.
Ashleigh explains: “Studies show that people don’t always trust their dentists, which is a real shame. Too often, people feel like they’re rushed into treatments which they don’t always feel are necessary. We opened Ponsonby Teeth to try and change that. Like you, we believe that generally the less dentistry we have to do, the better! We put the patient first by delivering ultra-professional care, clear communication, and tailored treatment plans. The extensive car parking should definitely help too!
We have installed the latest technology including intraoral-cameras, scanners, 3D X-rays and a Cerec machine, which give us the tools to empower our patients and drive our dental philosophy of patient directed care.”
Ashleigh is fascinated by the impact that our teeth and smiles have on our daily lives. After graduating from Otago University with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (with Distinction) she spent the next decade working in dental practices in both Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand where her experiences helped develop her patient-driven philosophy. This is the driving force behind Ponsonby Teeth’s approach to treatment, which focuses on an individual plan for each patient.
Treatments available include Preventative Care, Invisalign, Extractions and Oral Surgery, Cosmetic Dentistry, CEREC (Onsite & Same Day Crowns), Emergency Care, Sedation and Whitening. The practice is committed to offering options both in regards to treatment available, and in payment methods.

Ponsonby Teeth is situated in a design-led contemporary space overlooking the vibrant Ponsonby Road. Gone are plastic chairs and fluorescent lights of the past, and in their place is a relaxing blend of comfort and style. Added extras designed to help keep patients at ease include noise reducing headphones and a choice of movies to watch during treatment.
To celebrate the launch, Ashleigh is excited to be opening with three limited-time offers. Any new patients to the clinic can book in for a $69 check up, which includes two intra-oral x-rays. Experience the Airflow cleaning method with one hour hygiene appointments for $175, or receive same day crowns for $1450.
Ponsonby Teeth is open now and welcoming new patients for 2023. The clinic is located at 213 Ponsonby Road, Auckland (just opposite Prego) with eight free parking spaces at the rear of the building.
