Hey friends and a big hip hip hooray happy new year to you all! I hope you had a wonderful time relaxing and eating treats with loved ones.
Speaking of spending time with loved ones, I was watching Disney singalongs with my niece a couple of days ago and two songs stood out to me. It seems to me that there are two Disney movies currently playing out in our world. Half the world is Elsa from Frozen, singing “Let it Go, let it go, can’t hold it back anymore!” and the other half is Rapunzel from Tangled, singing “And so I’ll read a book, or maybe two or three. I’ll add a few paintings to my gallery. I’ll play guitar and knit and cook and basically just wonder when will my life begin?” What do you think? Are you Elsa or Rapunzel? Personally I yoyo between them. More of a Elsunzel if you will… maybe not quite as catchy but fitting nonetheless. One day I’m running through the snow singing at the top of my lungs, the next day I’m stuck inside the tower in my pajamas wondering what the next announcement from mother Rapunzel will bring…
To say last year didn’t exactly go as planned, would be an extreme understatement so in the spirit of moving forwards, I give you a farewell 2021 playlist. It’s a short one because we’re not here to dwell on the past but to pay our respects to the tough days gone by and walk into the sunshine with big goofy smiles on our faces. We’re strong and we know there is sooooo much good coming our way! Onwards and upwards my friends!
Farewell 2021 Playlist:
- All the Ways to Say Goodbye – Mitch James
- I’ll Say Goodbye (Even Though I’m Blue) – The Exponents (formerly Dance Exponents)
- Now is the Hour (Po Atarau/Haere Ra) – Hayley Westenra (there are many versions of this song)
As always, I’m sending love, sunshine and smiles your way! From your music mate, Franki.
