Make a Juno Autumn Toddy & Autumn Cocktail at Home

Autumn Toddy

  • 60ml Gin
  • 45ml Autumn Syrup (recipe below)
  • 20ml fresh squeezed Orange juice (or can substitute for lemon)
  • Top with hot water (about half a cup and not boiling water)
  • Garnish with fresh orange twists and a stick of cinnamon.
  • Can add honey to taste

Autumn Cocktail (cold)

  • 60ml Gin
  • 45ml Autumn Syrup (recipe below)
  • 20ml fresh squeezed Orange juice (or can substitute for lemon)
  • Fever Tree Orange Ginger beer
  • Garnish with a wheel of fresh orange
  • Can add honey to taste

Same recipe as below except top with ice Fever Tree Orange Ginger beer instead of hot water and Garnish with a wheel of fresh orange.

Method for Autumn Syrup

(makes approx. 500ml, increase quantity of ingredients for more)

  1. Combine 1.5 cup of water with 1 cup of brown sugar, three cinnamon quills, 2 tablespoons of orange zest, 1 tablespoon of lemon zest, 2 slices of fresh ginger and slowly bring to the boil, stirring often.
  2. Allow to boil for a few minutes until it starts to thicken and reduce heat and allow to simmer for approx. 10 mins until reduced down.
  3. For the adventurous ones try adding 1-2 cardamon pods for an added kick!!
  4. Allow to cool completely before use and store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.

 

Method for Autumn Toddy and Cocktail

Mix all the ingredients together. Sit back and relax!
