haircare

Luxe, natural, hair care at an affordable price point – could it be true?!

After a month of using Everblue’s ASPIRE Shampoo and Conditioner 3 - 4 times a week, my hair finally has that silky, run-your-fingers-through-it feeling that has been missing for a long time.

I’m not proud of it, but when it comes to haircare, I’m one of those people who have been using the same two bottles for years. I work in Fashion and Beauty, and of course I should know better, but I’m only human and the hunt to find the perfect shampoo and conditioner combination feels laborious. Scanning the shelves and we’re inundated with endless bottles, each one claiming to hydrate, smooth and repair better than the one before.

A meeting with the wonderful team at everblue forced me to admit out loud that my hair has been lacklustre and breakage prone for quite awhile. It was finally time to accept that I hadn’t yet found the right two bottles for my hair type. The everblue team recommended I try their ASPIRE Shampoo and Conditioner – specifically designed to hydrate and revive damaged, dry and brittle hair.

Jade Hart and Renee Lee founded everblue with a mission to create a clean, affordable brand of hair care that empowers women and makes us feel amazing from the inside out. In an era where we are constantly seeking the latest in innovation, Jade and Renee have recognised that it’s even more important than ever before to remain grounded in the healing benefits of natural products and formulas. Everblue’s haircare range is a non-toxic safe zone, proudly made right here in NZ with a commitment to sustainable practices – so us girls can feel great about what we’re using on our body and hair and the results we get which translates into feeling empowered within ourselves!

Right from the first lather, ASPIRE is a complete sensory experience. I feel my senses awaken immediately with the uplifting smell of Peppermint – a much needed energy boost first thing in the morning. Not only is the Peppermint great for elevating my spirit, but also works in harmony with the Jojoba and Kawakawa ingredients to repair my dry hair, visibly giving it more bounce. I also noticed that it helps to time flyaways – great for me as I rush from meeting to meeting during my workday.

I like to wear my long hair down, meaning it gets knotty by the end of a long day, so a good Conditioner that can brush through the tangles is key for me. My hair is also quite frizzy which is a constant mission to tame in the Auckland humidity! Everblue’s ASPIRE Conditioner contains Marula Oil which enriches from root to tip, preventing water loss making it the perfect antidote for my current frizz craziness.

After a month of using Everblue’s ASPIRE Shampoo and Conditioner 3 – 4 times a week, my hair finally has that silky, run-your-fingers-through-it feeling that has been missing for a long time. What a hair miracle! ASPIRE has brought vitality and energy to my dull strands, and at such a reasonable price point it’s most definitely become my go-to for my standard wash. How often do we find a natural product like this, that really performs and doesn’t cost the earth?! It feels too good to be true!

Completing the sensory experience is the aesthetic quality of the everblue range – I just love how the bottles look in my bathroom. The light blue colour is a visually pleasing addition next to my ever-growing array of indoor plants. (This design has environmental benefits too – light coloured bottles are much better for sorting at recycling stations, as dark bottles often get turned away. This is because lighter colours can easily be recycled into other light colours, or into dark colours; whereas dark colours can only be recycled into darker colours).

Like so many of us, I live a busy lifestyle and find it hard enough to find time for my regular grocery shop. If I have to go out of my way to a specialist store for my haircare, you can likely count me out. Thankfully, everblue is a brand that recognises this need for accessibility, and can be found at Countdown, FreshChoice and SuperValue supermarkets. That’s a yes from me!
