The Royal New Zealand Ballet marks the beginning of its eighth decade as New Zealand’s national ballet company with Lightscapes, a collection of works which celebrate the endless possibilities of light, space and the human body – encapsulating the essence and wonder of dance.
Performing in Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland only, from 27 July – 12 August 2023, this is destination dance – four unforgettable ballets performed by dancers proud to continue the passion, purpose and vision of the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s founders and to share their joy and love of dance with you.
Lightscapes is made up of a new work, Te Ao Mārama, by Moss Te Ururangi Patterson, George Balanchine’s exquisite Serenade, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s New Zealand premiere of Requiem for a Rose,and RNZB alumna Alice Topp’s Logos.
