Verve chats to Nica Marcello, the creative force steering Revlon’s education realm. In this exclusive interview, she shares her motivation, skincare secrets, makeup inspirations, and even a quick tip for the Beauty by Verve readers.
What motivates you working for Revlon?
There are so many reasons! Mostly it is about the people and collaborative culture. I work with some amazing, talented and intelligent women and I love being surrounded by that. Working for such an iconic brand that is still relevant today after more than 90 years is inspiring, and its so special to continually watch the brand evolve and adapt our products as new beauty lovers get to know about Revlon, and long-standing brand fans idolise the icons.
Walk us through your morning and nighttime skincare routine
I always give myself a light cleanse in the morning then I follow with Elizabeth Arden Vitamin C Capsules. I also add Hyaluronic Acid Ceramide Capsules followed by 50+ Sunscreen. At night I double cleanse with a cleansing oil then apply my eye cream followed by Elizabeth Arden Retinol + HPR Water Cream. I love applying my capsules with the Revlon Rose Quartz Skin Roller for a mini massage.
What inspires your approach to make up?
I am always inspired to try new techniques and trends when it comes to makeup and through this process discover what works for me. One of my most favourite trends is watching makeup turn in the direction of skincare, AKA the skinification of makeup, when you look like you only better. What’s your go to self care activity?
Infrared Sauna followed by a deep tissue massage is the ultimate luxury. However, at home taking my time with my skincare routine, especially at night, after cleansing I apply a rich oil and use the Revlon Jade Roller to give myself a lymphatic massage for a lifted effect.
