Nicola and Graham Kock are no strangers to the construction industry, having previously owned businesses in South Africa focusing on designing and delivering various commercial and residential construction projects.
Since moving to Auckland in 2014, the husband-and-wife duo have continued to pursue their passion in the industry with a focus on residential developments. Graham has continued to add to his 25 years of experience in the construction industry having managed large, multimillion- dollar construction projects across the North Island during the past decade.
They’re thrilled to put their expertise into building new homes as the new owners of Stonewood Homes Auckland East and South franchise, which includes areas such as Remuera, Eastern Bays, Howick, Clevedon, Manukau, and Beachlands.
Graham says the time is now right to step into their own and lead a homebuilding franchise with a brand that’s well established in the area.
“We started our careers with home renovations and have ended up in new builds, and it’s actually become a family journey for us,” Nicola says. “Our son Tyler, 18, has just finished college and will soon be studying construction management. He loves this industry as much as we do.”
Their expertise also stretches beyond building dream homes, with Nicola’s vast experience in interior decor also benefiting the finished product.
“We love creating beautiful spaces and can’t imagine a better job than helping to create residential environments and homes for the community,” she says.
Graham hopes they’ll fill the void of the general shortage of homes in the region.
“A lot of people have reached out with enquiries, whether it’s knocking down a home and rebuilding, investment properties or a new family home, so we see a lot of opportunity,” he says.
The couple are no strangers to Auckland’s south and east and live within the area.
“We’ve considered a Stonewood Homes franchise before, but there were no opportunities available at the time in the area we live. We feel it’s vital to be part of the community in which we operate and know the areas inside and out to provide that local knowledge” Nicola says.
“These areas are diverse and have something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a slightly more urban or suburban environment that’s close to the city or a lifestyle property a bit further out, they’re the ideal locations,” she adds.
“There are many established suburbs with well-known, popular schools and supporting infrastructure, and there are also many new residential developments – all created with a strong community focus and feel with new schools and other convenient amenities. Whether you’re an investor buyer or a forever home buyer, there’s truly something for everyone.”
Nicola and Graham’s brand-new show home in Park Green Estate, Papakura is now open to view.
