Turmeric, Yogurt & Oatmeal

Indian actress and producer Priyanka Chopra incorporates a homemade face mask into her skincare routine to achieve radiant, refreshed skin and combat dullness.

Recipe: Combine equal parts yogurt, oatmeal, and turmeric. Apply the mixture evenly to your face and leave it on for half an hour. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

Rice Water

Originating from ancient Japanese culture, the idea is to soak your hair in rice water to help not only with growth, but also shine, colour, smoothness and strength. Celebrities from Kim Kardashian to Cardi B have joined in crediting rice water with improving their hair’s health.

Recipe: Rinse a cup or two of rice, then soak the rice in water for at least 30 minutes. Afterwards, strain the rice and save the water. 

Aloe Vera Face Mask

Aloe vera is renowned for its numerous skincare benefits, cherished by celebrities for its antioxidant-rich, hydrating properties that help balance pH and promote healing, making it ideal for achieving youthful, radiant skin.

Recipe: For tackling fine lines and firming skin, combine 1 raw egg with 1 1/2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel. Whisk till combined, apply the mixture onto clean skin and leave it on for 15 minutes. Remove the mask using a warm, damp washcloth. 

Hair: Banana Mask

Bananas are celebrated for their diverse beauty benefits, valued for their ability to repair, moisturize, and add shine to hair. They also soothe the scalp, combat dandruff, promote hair growth, and reduce hair loss. 

Recipe: For a mask that softens and promotes hair growth, mix a mashed banana with a tablespoon of sweet almond oil. Apply to hair and scalp, cover with a towel for 30 minutes, then wash as usual.

For dry, curly, or frizzy hair, combine a mashed banana with your choice of vegetable oil (like argan or coconut), and optionally add an egg yolk or plain yogurt and avocado oil. Leave on for 30 minutes before washing your hair.
