Funky, edgy, and original, Wendy Nelson makes her mark in Ponsonby Central with refreshing contemporary fashion and homewares.
From being one of the first designer clothing stores to open in Ponsonby in 1985, Wendy has been designing in the world of fashion for 45 years – styling her merchandise in black and white, with splashes of colour and unique, original prints. From locally sourced fabrics, Wendy’s contemporary style explores a minimalistic but versatile look, suitable for any occasion and age. Wendy channels her craft from experience and inspiration procured over years of travelling and designing for numerous fashion houses, harnessing her passion to create something for everyone.
At Wendy Nelson’s Home, established in 2022, she incorporates her range of vintage homewares in Couture Kitchen and Home; including tea towels, tote bags with original prints, and plant-based soaps. Her trendy line of 422 can be found in her store, blending themes of funky and modern. Other quality labels include Emporio Italia, Chaplin, and Leon and Harper. Wendy’s line is also a collaboration with Kayla McGregor’s Remnants, the New Zealand-made brand of locally sourced and sustainable clothing and accessories. From preloved goods to upcycled materials, Kayla works alongside Wendy to bring a unique and refreshing selection to locals.
Designed and manufactured in Auckland, Wendy opens her doors for locals and visitors from abroad, along with the easy option to shop online. Wendy’s edgy contemporary store not only dives into current trends, but provides a uniqueness anyone can confidently enjoy.
