Leaving behind her corporate career over a decade ago, Heather Walker decided to seize control of her destiny and instead follow her passion for interiors. Initially, Cocohills began as a consignment store for designer furniture, however over the years, the store has evolved alongside Heather’s love for interior design and is now home to a beautifully curated collection of hand-picked furniture and homeware pieces sourced from over 20 wholesalers.
A firm favourite with locals, Cocohills has a neighbourhood boutique feel, yet thanks to its online presence, Heather has customers all over New Zealand and ships nationwide. The growth of the store can be attributed to the numerous referrals from Heather’s loyal customers who shop with her time-and-time again.
“I think what sets Cocohills apart, and why we have such a broad customer base, is because I don’t adhere to a single aesthetic,” says Heather. “We offer an extensive range of furniture to suit all styles, tastes and budgets.”
Heather also offers her expertise through an interior styling service, diligently sourcing the perfect pieces to complement her clients’ spaces from her wide network of suppliers and local furniture makers. Heather’s hands-on-approach, and wealth of industry knowledge and experience makes the process enjoyable for her clients, as well as stress-free.

Not one to sit still, Heather has always had a greater vision for Cocohills. Excitingly, she has recently unveiled a bespoke line of sofas, ottomans, and headboards under the Cocohills brand. Collaborating with a local upholsterer, her designs are now on display in her showroom and online. Each item is customisable, allowing clients to select from a range of fabric options, leg styles, sizes, and more. “I feel very proud to be selling high-quality New Zealand-made furniture at affordable prices,” says Heather.
