What is the one thing you need to make it feel like Christmas time?
Christmas spent with my loved ones. Christmas for us at Superette always starts in November – it’s always such a busy time of the year. I love the excitement and festivities surrounding Christmas and always look forward to the time I get to spend with my family on Christmas Day. I’m also so looking forward to a bit of a summer break at the beach with my little family after our crazy Christmas trade. There’s nothing better than a day spent at the beach when the sun is out – it’s the best.
Favourite Christmas tradition?
Heading up to our beach house in Omaha for the summer holidays with my little family and of course being around my nearest and dearest.
Favourite gift for her?
There’s just so many. We really tried to make Superette the ultimate Christmas destination this year and ensure we had something for everyone and anyone. I’m loving our Superette x By Charlotte Jewellery collaboration. There’s a pair of delicate earrings, alongside necklaces and rings which can be purchased as a pair — with each person wearing one half each. It makes for such a meaningful present. You can also never go wrong with a pair of Golden Goose sneakers – they work with everything. A pair of our new Bottega Veneta or Balenciaga sunnies is also for sure on my list.
Favourite gift for him?
We have a great new addition in store this year to make buying gifts for the dudes in your life as easy as possible. We’ve added a designated tee and boardies space in-store for an easy grab and go option. Those are always great no-fail gift options for the guys. We’re also loving the Just Another Fisherman range – there’s some great matching tee and cap combos in a new shark monogrammed print. For an extra special gift, our new Leblon Delienne Mickey Mouse figurines are amazing collectable items and make a creative statement piece for him at home.
Christmas wardrobe must-have?
- A special festive dress. We’re loving dresses in bright colours, metallics and dresses with fun cut-outs. I think we’re all so ready for parties and gatherings to resume again after lockdown.
- Classic gold jewellery works with any outfit. There’s lots of beautiful jewellery this season – big earrings, chunky gold chains and more understated, fine jewellery.
- An elevated sneaker. A pair of Golden Goose sneakers are always my go-to. They can be worn casually during the day as well as in the evening with a more elevated, glam dress. Always super comfortable, easy to wear and each pair is unique.
- An oversized tote bag. A tote is always a go-to item to take you from place to place throughout summer – whether a picnic or barbeque – you can carry your whole life in there! Our new Ragdoll LA x Superette collab carry all tote bags are great for this or the Anine Bing Saffron tote.
- A pop of colour. Adding a bit of colour to my outfit each day is helping me get through lockdown. We love bright pops of green at Superette, and as we move into the spring/summer season, we’re seeing exciting new pop colours coming through.
What is the most exciting Christmas collaboration that is up and coming for Superette?
That’s such a hard question! I love them all. We do our Christmas collabs every year and they always make for amazing gifts as you can’t find them anywhere else – they are exclusive to Superette. Our Jewellery collaborations with Meadowlark and By Charlotte are beautiful, our C&M tees in the summer sorbet tones are a fave and it’s exciting to see our Christmas campaign checkerboard design across our Casetify phone cases this year from our collaboration with them. There are so many goodies, it’s so hard to choose.
Essential Christmas cocktail?
Our lockdown favourite was certainly the Coconut Margarita – so delish. I’m always up for anything that’s fresh – we have some amazing cocktail recipes on our Superette blog that are worth trying! Everything from Lilian’s Blood Orange Margarita, to Amano’s ‘Quarantini’ made with feijoa and lime. There are so many goodies on there that I have lined up to make for the silly season!
