Ingredients
Bircher Museli
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
- 1/2 fresh pear finely diced
- 1 tbsp maple
- 1 tbsp Forty Thieves Chai Spiced Almond Butter with Fruit Pieces
- 1/4 cup sultanas
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Poached Pear
- 2 cups fresh orange juice
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsp maple
- 1 tbsp Forty Thieves Chai Spiced Almond Butter with Fruit Pieces
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/8 tsp ground cloves
- 2 medium peeled and cored pears
Toppings
- Forty Thieves Chai Spiced Almond with Fruit Pieces
- Berries + fruit
- Nuts + seeds
Method
Bircher Muesli:
Combine all bircher ingredients into a medium mixing bowl and refrigerate overnight, or for a minimum of 2 hours for quick-cook oats.
Poached Pear:
Bring all poaching liquid ingredients to a boil in a medium saucepan. Reduce heat and add the pears. Simmer for 40 minutes turning every 10 minutes to ensure even cooking. Check the pears are cooked by piercing with a fork. The pears should be soft and the fork easily goes through. Once cooked, remove the pears and set aside. Turn the temperature up to high and reduce the poaching liquid down for 30 minutes until it has thickened. Remove from heat and add the pears back in to coat.
Serve your bircher and poached pear with Forty Thieves Chai Spiced Almond with Fruit Pieces, berries, nuts, and seeds.
