Our Fashion Week Highlights

Another Fashion Week comes to a close, but this year’s showcase did not disappoint. A diverse range of models, unique makeup looks and a whole lot of sequins made up the top trends of this year’s shows. Here’s just a few of our highlights from the week.

DESIIGNER CLOSES OUT HUFFER
Huffer celebrated the brand’s 21st year in business with a runway-turned-party event when rapper, Desiigner closed out the show. The invite-only show ended with a massive afterparty, which created an electric atmosphere that only Huffer could pull off.

JESS QUINN STEALS THE SHOW
The new Stolen Girlfriend’s Club collection was not only one of our favourite and most wearable collections, but Jess Quinn stole the show with her surprise appearance on the catwalk. Looking absolutely stunning, it was great to see such a diverse range of models throughout this year’s packed out show.

TRELISE COOPER’S PSYCHADELIC RUNWAY
With holographic strips strung from the ceiling of the runway, a whirlwind of colour, prints and sequins marked the return of Trelise Cooper. One of the most anticipated shows of the year, the veteran designer showcased 129 looks, with bright and dramatic makeup and a slightly 70’s throwback feel that we loved.

KATHRYN WILSON’S MARCHING TROUPE
Opening with the classic cinderella disney soundtrack ‘bibbidi bobbidy boo’ and transitioning into a 90’s playlist that got everyone’s toes tapping, footwear brand, Kathryn Wilson, was a definite stand-out for it’s fun and funky atmosphere. With models dressed head to toe in red marching costumes, they danced down the runway – making for a nice change from the seriousness of other shows during the week.

HAILWOOD’S COLOUR POP GLAMOUR
Full length coats, embellished nudes and sultry black dresses adorned with lace and sequins made up Hailwood’s collection this year. Models wore bright bob cut wigs for this ultra-feminine collection. A slight departure from the bold prints we’ve come to know from Hailwood, but we loved the new range of evening wear showcased.
