WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING

18 August

Based on the bestselling novel, Where the Crawdads Sing tells of Kya, an abandoned girl who raised herself to adulthood in the dangerous marshlands of North Carolina. For years, rumours of the ‘Marsh Girl’ haunted Barkley Cove, isolating the sharp and resilient Kya from her community. Drawn to two young men from town, Kya opens herself to a new and startling world, but when one of them is found dead, she becomes the main suspect. As the case unfolds, the verdict as to what actually happened becomes increasingly unclear, threatening to reveal the many secrets that lay within the marsh.

Directed by Olivia Newman and starring Daisy Edgar-Jones and Taylor John Smith.

THE PRINCESS

4 August

The Princess tells the story of Princess Diana exclusively through contemporaneous archival footage creating a bold and immersive narrative of her life and death. Turning the camera back on ourselves, the film illuminates the profound impact she had and how the public’s attitude to the monarchy was, and still is, shaped by these events.

Directed by Academy-Award nominated Ed Perkins (Tell Me Who I Am) and from the Academy-Award winning producer of Searching for Sugar Man and Man on Wire.

RUBY’S CHOICE

4 August

Starring two-time Golden Globe-winner Jane Seymour OBE, Ruby’s Choice is a poignant tale about three generations of strong women. Bonded by shared moments of wisdom and joy, past secrets are revealed, and as Ruby’s illness threatens to push them apart, the family must make a big decision. It’s a story that will resonate with audiences touched by dementia, while offering hope and inspiration to live life to the fullest. Ruby’s Choice will support dementia care with a portion of profits.

Directed by Michael Budd.
