Now in its third year, the festival is a must for people who love reading, writing and buying books as gifts or for themselves. The bonus is that through this they support local authors, most of whom are self-published with the books on offer being of an extremely high standard and in some cases having received over fifty 5-Star reviews on Amazon and won awards. There will be a wide range of general fiction and non-fiction on offer, along with children’s illustrated books, poetry, thrillers, self-help and how to books.

The Kids’ Zone will be packed with books for kids of all ages, along with face painting and story-telling. Children love being read to and the bean bags in the Story Nook are even big enough for mum and dad to curl up, too. But bigger still is Charlie the 3m long crocodile who will hold pride of place in the Zone and who just loves having his photo taken with kids.

With Christmas fast approaching, the Festival is the perfect spot to pick up books for family and friends, giving them a gift that will last longer than the holidays. A lot of the books available are unique to the Festival and cannot be purchased anywhere else. And, because book buying is thirsty work that builds up an appetite, The Book Nook Café has a wide range of yummy food and drink on offer. For those who come first thing, there will be espresso available.

Check out the website for information about the authors and what you can expect on the day.
